WHY BE A SPONSOR? IT’S A GREAT CAUSE!
Purposes of the Show
1) Exhibit Quilts to show the beauty, craftsmanship, and variety of about 200 quilts made by Quilters Unlimited members
- Miniature through king-bed sizes
- From many traditions through modern styles
- Hand and machine techniques for piecing, appliqué, and quilting
2) Raise funds for Q.U. Educational and Philanthropic activities
Education at the Show
- There will be 20 Demonstrations of quilting and related craft techniques
- Guild members will be on hand to answer questions about the quilts during the exhibit.
Other Quilters Unlimited Educational Efforts
- Workshops and Classes that are open to members and non-members
- Hands-on Training for beginning quilters
- Monthly programs that teach a new technique or spotlight the work of a noted quilter
Philanthropy
- The guild supplies batting, fabric, and instructions to those making quilts for donation to numerous worthwhile causes. Fundraising helps us buy needed supplies.
- Those receiving quilts include the following and more:
Children sleeping in a bed for the first time — through Sleep in Heavenly Peace
Veterans being honored for their service — Quilts of Valor and also lap quilts for disabled Veterans
Infants in Neonatal ICU — to cover their mattresses or to block too much light from their isolettes
Patients in Hospice — to make a hospital bed feel more like home
Animals offered for adoption — a soft place in a crate
Breast Cancer Survivors — a pillow with case to cushion seat belts
