2015 Guild Meeting Programs
Each month we encourage you to bring your quilts that demonstrate the topic of the month’s program.
January 2015 – Windows On The World
We will feature cathedral windows but hope you will bring attic windows and other window quilts so we have a large variety. NOTE: In addition to bringing your quilts , bring scissors, needle, and a neutral thread so you can participate in a hands-on project.
February 2015 – Trash To Treasure/ White Elephant Sale
Sign up for a table ($5.00). Unburden yourself of those quilt and fabric items you don’t want but others will scoop up and enjoy.
March 2015 – Mi Casa, Su Casa – House Blocks plus Pattern Handout.
Bring quilts with any type of houses – tents, churches, schools, barns, cottages, beehives, bird, or wonky houses. The more the merrier. How many types will we see?
April 2015 – “Grannie Would Be So Excited”
This program will focus on how quilting has changed over time. Grannie really would be surprised at quilting’s evolution.
May 2015 – Spring Fling – Baskets, Birds, Blossoms
Everything that spring brings is colorful and / or cute. Bring all your quilts that fit the description and suit the season.
June 2015 – Ships And Seas – CROSSED CANOES, STORM AT SEA, APPLIQUED OR PIECED BOATS, ETC. Let us see what you’ve done to represent the ocean and naval themes. Is there a boat in your closet?
July 2015 – Quilts Of Valor And Other Philanthropic Causes
As there is no end of need in this community and beyond, we have many opportunities to involve ourselves in multiple projects to help. From veterans to the ill, the young and even those from the animal kingdom who need our help, we try to respond. This month bring in your projects that will assist and honor others.
August 2015 – Challenge
This is always a great opportunity to hear about the creativity of our members and see their projects. Let’s have great participation in the challenge.
September 2015 – Trees And Leaves
Just as nature presents numerous species with varying types of leaves, so too do quilters make multiple different tree and leaf quilts. Bring all that you wish so that we have a veritable woodland forest. There will also be a pattern handout.
October 2015 – Favorite Holidays – Quilts, Decorations, Table Runners, Etc.
Are pumpkins, bats and owls your favorite things? Maybe you are partial to turkeys and cornucopias. Who doesn’t like wreaths, Santas and candy canes? Then there are those adorable bunnies, chicks, and lambs. There are so many symbols for the various holidays, bring your examples and you’ll get more ideas at this meeting.
